A Visit to Porsche Headquarters in Atlanta

Thanks to my good friend, Scott Bartlett, the Senior Manager at Porsche Experience Center, part of the NC State Wolfpack and former driving instructor for the Motorsport Lab, I had an invitation to visit Porsche North America Headquarters in Atlanta, GA.

The 27-acre complex located at One Porsche Drive was a reclamation project from an old Ford Manufacturing Plant. Inside the facility are not only offices, but also a design center for Porsche customers, a collector’s museum of classic Porsches and Brumos Racing Porsches, corporate event space, the 365 Fine Dining Restaurant, the Carrera Café, off-road course, and a 1.6-mile high-speed test track and a consumer driving experience center that teaches high-performance driving. There are some cool artifacts and artwork from Porsche’s past and my favorite – a Lego brick Porsche Carrera.

In the next few years, Porsche will expand the headquarters with a 33-acre extension with the creation of a new Service Center, a Classic Factory Restoration Facility, and an extension of the Porsche Experience Center Track.

“Porsche is committed to the United States and our American hometown of Atlanta,” said Kjell Gruner, newly appointed president and CEO of PCNA. “We see a prime opportunity to continue enhancing the customer experience by expanding our campus for faster service at a unique location next to the world’s busiest airport. This also starts a longer-term expansion of the successful Porsche Experience Center Atlanta.”

Visitors to the Porsche Experience Center can partake in a variety of thrilling driving experiences. Upon arrival, they can dive into the action at the Simulator Lab where cutting-edge driving simulators provide an immersive experience on renowned racetracks worldwide. The main highlight awaits at the 1.6-mile circuit, where the sheer power and performance of Porsche's top models are showcased. Personalized instruction from driving coaches precedes the exhilarating opportunity for visitors to pilot a Porsche themselves on the pristine track, gaining valuable insights into the inner workings of these high-performance vehicles.

The recently unveiled Countach LPI 800-4s also gives homage to the original, and “it imagines how the iconic Countach of the 70s and 80s might have evolved into an elite super sports model of this decade,” according to Lamborghini’s president.

While it’s reported this version is already sold out, you can be sure to see it and others on next year’s Motorsport Lab’s Cradle of Supercar’s Tour in Motor Valley, Italy. While there, we’ll be visiting several Lamborghini and Ferrari Museums and other amazing motorsports attractions.
