Ferrari & Lamborghini Water Toys, ahem...I mean Hyper Boats
Who doesn’t love to experiment with powerful engines? Ferrari and Lamborghini were always looking to amp up the next type of vehicle…yet what would that vehicle be?
For Ferrari, it was a racing boat in the 1950s dubbed Arno XI that used a Ferrari racing engine that produced 550 to 600 HP. It sent a record hitting 150.49mph and then blew up! The boat has been restored with a 4.5-liter Ferrari V12 engine, which gives about 385 HP. That was the end to Ferrari’s experiments with boats and I would presumably say for now, but you never know.
70 yeas later, Lamborghini has partnered with the Italian Sea Group to launch a supercar inspired Yacht, called the Tecnomar for Lamborghini 63 paying tribute to the automakers creation in 1963. It’s influenced by the rare Lamborghini Sian FKP37 and contains two V12 engines that totals 4000 HP!
“If I had to imagine a Lamborghini on water, this would be my vision”, said former CEO Stefano Domenicali, now CEO of Formula 1.
