Barbie x Maserati
Maserati has teamed up with Mattel to build a Barbie-inspired vehicle. With the Maserati Grecale, the Italian automaker's newest SUV, everyday driving can be transformed into something special.
It's perfect for Barbie's multifaceted lifestyle, according to the automaker, from business meetings to glamorous events. Only two Barbie Maserati Grecales will be available worldwide as an ultra-limited Fuoriserie edition. One was unveiled at Neiman Marcus' Los Angeles holiday launch soiree as one of the 2022 Fantasy Gifts.
In the Barbie Edition, the body is painted a vibrant pink with Acid Yellow contrast accents on key parts like the front grille and the fender ports. A specialized top coat gives the paint a rainbow effect, and Barbie script and log appear on the fenders and C-pillar. Those black wheels are also part of the package, and the rear is adorned with a bold diffuser.
Pink accents abound throughout the interior, continuing the Barbie theme. The pink color nods to Maserati's willingness to explore different color combinations and also follows what we've seen on Maserati special editions. A set of pink B logos adorn the headrests to emphasize the Barbie and Mattel connection. Should Ken feel he's losing out on performance, the duo also comes with a twin-turbocharged 3.0 liter V6 that puts out 523 hp and 427 lb-ft of torque. With an eight-speed automatic transmission, this fashion statement can sprint from zero to 62 mph in 3.8 seconds.
As part of Maserati's Fuoriserie customization program, Barbie's Maserati Grecale was created according to her style and taste, so she can express her passion and creativity. In this Maserati Grecale Fuoriserie Trofeo, you're getting 530 horsepower from a V6 Nettuno engine. Pink covers nearly every inch of the car, with fine acid-yellow lines inspired by the Trident's racing heritage.
This U.S. exclusive sells for $330,000. About 10% of the sale price goes to the Barbie Dream Gap Project. Together with other charities, they help girls be more equal and believe in themselves. Currently, only one vehicle has been spoken for, and the final vehicle will be released in 2023.
